  1. Originally set up with support from Rough Trade, it later became a sub-label of Mute Records. Run by Paul Smith with help from sisters Pat Naylor and Liz Naylor. Smith also runs a completely independent label called Blast First Petite for titles that he likes but Mute/EMI choose not to release.
  2. HOVERCRAFT Vinyl Records and CDs Defunct band from Seattle, founded by Ryan Campbell (alias Campbell ) and Beth Liebling (alias Sadie 7, Eddie Vedder's former wife), Bobby Tamkin (alias Paul 4) out of the ashes of the band called Space Helmet, which also included members of Magnog.
  3. Heavy as lead and as dense as concrete, this instrumental album is an overload of rhythmic swells and guitar experimentations. It is purely improvisational music deeply influenced by space-rock bands such as Hawkwind/5(5).
  4. The debut album by the Seattle trio Hovercraft isn't exactly everyone's bottle of Nyquil. With five instrumentals spread out over nearly 65 minutes, even dedicated space-rock fans might find their attention wandering at times. The grooves range from lulling to ethereal to downright somnambulistic.3/5(4).
  5. Vinyl LP Blast First / bffp you need this album. I recommend this one to the Hovercraft neophyte over Akathisia, but you'll end up buying both. I view this as one of the most well-produced, meticulously-crafted headphone albums ever made, so I tend to believe the band worked on all parts until they were perfect, likely involving.
  6. View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the CD release of Akathisia on Discogs. Label: Mute - ,Blast First - • Format: CD Album • Country: US • Genre: Rock • /5(24).
  7. In North America, debut album (released as double-LP and single CD) Akathisia was distributed by Mute Records America. Ned Raggett of Allmusic said that "the trio on Akathisia did a fantastic job of whipping up five dark, engrossing instrumentals that avoided any pretense of commercial acceptance.".
